The London Development Project, ‘next to Holborn Viaduct in Farringdon Street, is the new European headquarters for globalinvestment bank Goldman Sachs. This huge and prestigious scheme, nine storeys high, has 78,000m² of state-of-the-art, low-energy office space that sufficient for nearly 10,000 workers.’
Nestled into the financial district and next doorto the Italian Consulate, The London Development project features enough usablespace for Goldman Sachs to consolidate several other workspaces to house around 6,000 of it’s employees under one roof,’ creating a HQ specifically designed for the investment bankers and their staff.
Working alongside Multiplex Construction Europe and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, Adexon® installed the Fire Curtain Systems necessary to prevent the spread of fire and smoke through the buildings, in the event of a fire. By installing fire curtains, the open plan layout and high-spec design of the building was uninterrupted but the space was given the necessary compartmentation requirements to protect the building from fire, and smoke spread, and enables safe egress for partners in the company during an emergency.
